Principal bathroom renovation | Hackney E5
Everyone deserves one room in the house where they can properly switch off. The homeowners wanted a bathroom that felt calm, spacious and full of natural light, so as part of a wider loft conversion and renovation we combined the original bathroom with a separate WC to create one generous, beautifully connected space.
Opening the ceiling up to the original rafters and introducing a large rooflight floods the room with daylight, creating a wonderful sense of height and openness. A traditional freestanding cast iron bath sits beneath the window, providing a peaceful place to unwind, while the original Victorian fireplace has been lovingly restored to celebrate the character and history of the house.
Soft green walls are paired with a playful blend of pink, sage and warm neutral hexagonal tiles, bringing warmth and personality without overwhelming the space. A bespoke pink marble vanity with generous double basins and patinated bronze wall-mounted taps makes busy mornings easier, while adding a quiet sense of everyday luxury.
Thoughtful planning, carefully chosen materials and an abundance of natural light have transformed what was once two small rooms into a bathroom that feels generous, restorative and full of character—a space that makes everyday routines just a little more enjoyable.
