Designed as a year-round retreat, this contemporary pool house combines natural light, carefully crafted materials and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

Created as part of a substantial private residence in Virginia Water, Surrey, the building was designed to provide a calm and adaptable space that could be enjoyed throughout every season. Large sliding glazed walls allow the pool house to open almost completely to the gardens during the summer months, while carefully positioned rooflights draw daylight deep into the interior all year round.

The restrained palette of materials creates a peaceful atmosphere throughout. A reflective stretched ceiling echoes the stillness of the water below, while crisp architectural lines and finely detailed finishes give the building a timeless quality. Every element has been carefully considered to create a space that feels elegant, light-filled and effortless to use.

The result is a tranquil retreat that feels seamlessly connected to its surroundings—a place for swimming, relaxing and spending time with family and friends, whatever the season.
